The Procedure of Making Fake Blood

Step-By-Step of Making Fake Blood:

In the trailer, there is a particular scene that we would like to shoot showing fake blood spill out from a low angle. For this we decided that we would make the fake blood.

The first step was adding water to the Golden Syrup and mixing it until they both had came together to form a thick liquid that didn't stick.

This was what it looked like after I had mixed the water and Golden Syrup together.

The next step was to add a few drops of red dye into the mixture to help make the blood colour.

This was the result to adding the dye. As you can see, the colour is much like a blood colour, however the mixture was too weak and watery to be blood, so the next step was to thicken the mixture.

In order to thicken the mixture, the first step was to add sieved flour. The reason the flour had to be sieved was so it didn't leave lumps in the mixture.

After adding the sieved flour, I added in come chocolate sauce / syrup into the mixture again help thicken up the mixture and to also add a bit of dark colouring into the red dye to help make a realistic blood colour.

Finally, the last step was adding a few more couple of drops of red dye into the mixture and stirring it all together. This was the final result.
