Ancillary Task 2 Deconstructions

Here I have deconstructed three magazine reviews about three different movies.

After deconstructing three different magazine reviews, I think for the making of my magazine page I would like to use the idea of having one main image possibly centered in the middle of the first page, and then smaller images beside the large image, or possibly on the next page to support the main image. I think it would also be important to include a masthead on the magazine to make the magazine look more professional.
I would also like to keep to a similar colour scheme to the poster. I think by doing this, it would make the magazine page look very interesting as it would give a strong link between the magazine and movie.
I think it would also be important to write the story about the magazine in columns to help resemble a real magazine and look more professional.

Ancillary Task 1 Deconstructions

Here I have deconstructed the Annabelle, Orphan and Ouija Posters.

I think, after deconstructing these posters, I like the overall idea of using a simple image (likely a close up) of what the movie is about, displayed on the poster in a dark lightning, to indicate the emotion of fear, death, evil and mystery.
I think in terms of colour, I think I will like to stick to a similar colour scheme as the Annabelle poster, such as red, white and black, for the same reasons, -to indicate danger and evil etc...
In terms of headings, I think I would like to keep my poster rather simplistic by not over crowding the poster with information, but to instead just add the obvious - the title, date of release and also the logo of the producer of the movie, similar to the posters I deconstructed.

Main Text Deconstructions

Here I have deconstructed the movie trailers for Annabelle, Orphan and Ouija.

Annabelle -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paFgQNPGlsg
Orphan     -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgxVIB2WuHU
Ouija        -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_T1Jj1inE8M

Codes and Conventions

The genre of our trailer is going to be a horror. To achieve this, we are going hoping to include scenes with the Killer Clown what we have in mind, and include some violence and fake blood to make it look realistic. In our trailer, we would also like to include the black fade in between the scenes, and have a increase of past during the trailer as it goes on. This is a popular trend in horror trailers as it helps build tension in the trailer and gets the audience excited with fear. The props we would like to include are:
an axe -- the murder weapon
clown mask
fake blood
red balloons
a digital camera

By using the above, it should be apparent to the audience what the genre is.

Chosen Brief

I have chosen to do the promotion package for a new film, to include a trailer, together with two of the following three options:

• a website homepage for the film;

• a film magazine front cover, featuring the film;

• a poster for the film.

 My group and I have chosen to do the two of the options that are in bold for our Movie Trailer. We have decided to do these two potions as they feel the most relevent to the trailer we have in mind.
We decided as a group that we would much prefere to do the Killer Clown idea because of our feedback and because we all had much more idea's for this idea.
