Moving Image Planning
What emotional impact do you want your filming do have upon
the reader? How?
The main purpose for our trailer is to make people scared and want to see the rest of the film. We will do this by leaving cliff-hangers and implied death to engage the reader and also not give a full explanation of the story behind the clown. That way the audience will not understand the whole story and will have to see it to find out the details.

How are you going to emphasise colour?
We will have an underlying theme of red in our trailer: the
balloon, clown costume, character costumes, dog collar and the font will all be
red or have accents of red to contrast the dark colours that will be in the scenes.
We will also use a circus type theme so colours like gold will also feature.
What lighting will you need? Any other equipment?
For some scenes we will be using natural light to give a
natural feel to the house scenes however we will be using night vision and some
subtle usages of artificial lighting for when it gets too dark to film and we
aren’t using the camera view to film the scenes.
Make-up? Costume?
We will be using natural makeup and costume for our
protagonists, some white and yellow costume makeup for the clown to go under
the mask and clown costume we will be using, a suit for our police officer and
a red collar for the dog.
Pitch and Audience Feedback
Here, my group and I have created a Pitch on Powerpoint explaining our idea's, inspirations and thoughts for our trailer.
Our audience feedback came back positive, all supporting our ideas. We did get one feedback sheet telling us that we should include some pop music in the background, but we thought this would be completely irrelevant due to our genre, so we have decided not to do this. We didn't get any other feedback telling us any other ideas that we could include in our trailer.

Audience Research
Below, I have made a survey for the public to answer, regarding time length, likes and what the viewers want within a horror trailer/movie.
In my survery, the first questions I asked were about the gender of the person answering the survey, and also their age. My first question that I thought was important to ask was 'Do you like Horror Films?'.
Here, my responces show that 14/20 = 70% of people like horror films, with another 6/20 = 30% in total saying that they 'Sometimes' and also 'Depends on the sub genre of Horror'. This was a really good responce as it means that only two people out of the 20 people who answered the survey said that they didn't like horror's, meaning we know that the majority people would want to watch our Horror Trailer.
The next question I asked, I found important, as I thought it would be better to ask the public what age they would usually rate a slasher horror to seem more realistic in the trailer.
It was very close between the ages 15 and 18, which I overall came to the decision that it would depend on whats within the slasher, for example, bad language and body exposure.
In this next question, I asked the public 'what type of Horror films do you prefer?'.
This chart shows that the two least popular sub-genres were 'Slasher' and 'Found Footage'. Even though I already wanted to make the Trailer a slasher horror, I have also decided to make it, including found footage as this would mean that there would be room on the market for my type of Horror and also, I would like to make a Trailer to surprise the audience to like something they didn't think they would like.
My next question was linked to the previous question, as this time, I asked the public, which films do they like specifically.
As the table shows, 30% of the 20 people who answered the survey, said that they specifically like 'The Purge', 'IT', and 'Orphan', the three main inspirations for this Horror Trailer. The most popular option was 'Woman in Black', so I think that I could include some aspects that make Woman in Black popular, to my Trailer, such as the the darkness, eerieness and the element of shock.
I then asked the public:
70% of the answeres show that they are not scared of clowns. This is good in a way because it means that we now have the challenge to scare the audience and change their idea of whether clowns scare them.
As one of the most important questions I put inot my survey, I asked the public what would the like to see in a Horror Film.
This responce shows that the very most popular thing people wanted to see in a Horror was 'Scares', followed closely by 'Good Acting' and a 'Good' and 'Realistic Plot'. Also, the chart shows that 35% of the people who answered said that they would like to see 'Blood and Gore' and 'Dead Bodies'. I plan to add these in my Trailer so I can achieve a successful Trailer that would leave people wanting to see the full film.
Lastly, my last two questions that I asked was, 'Would you watch a horror film about a killer clown', and 'What time length would you have a trailer video'.
As the graphs show, almost 70% of the responces said that they would watch a Horror about a Killer Clown, and that the time length most popular voted was 2:31 - 3:00, which matches the the time length of most Trailers and the time length I already had in mind.
